January 28, 202115 Tips on how to help a loved one hear better…
February 1, 2021Your ears – what to do and what not to do – a few handy tips for proper ear care!
Do
- Use hearing protection when exposed to loud sound
- Go for a checkup regularly – preferably annually
- Visit an audiologist if you experience a ringing sound in your ear
- Have bothersome wax-buildup removed by a trained individual
- Consult an audiologist if you experience any difficulty in hearing conversation in noisy areas like the car, restaurants and groups of people
- Stay active & eat healthy
- Keep your ears dry after a swim or shower (not deep inside the ear canal) – especially if you are prone to ear infections
- Visit an audiologist if you feel that your one ear hears better than the other
Do Not
- Ignore earpain / draining from the ears
- Smoke – Smoking has shown to cause hearing loss through affecting the circulatory system
- Assume hearing loss only occurs in older people
- Put any eardrop in your ears unless prescribed by a qualified professional
- Ignore it if you have a sudden drop in your hearing
- Try to remove foreign objects from your ears yourself
- Use ear candles for wax removal
- Hit anyone on the ear
- Listen to music or other sound at high volumes
- Shout in someone’s ear
One general rule of thumb (or is it rule of ear) is to not put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear! Wait – Or is it rule of elbow? 🙂

How much is microsuction, my ear is blocked for the past 3 days
Good day Oliver, we unfortunately dont do microsuction. The best would be to consult with an ENT Doctor to do so for you! Regards
