Tips for easy hearing aid care during lockdown!

Tips for easy hearing aid care during lockdown!

We are relying on our hearing aids daily to provide us with quality hearing and make communication easy. If there is a case that your hearing aid does not function optimally, we don’t want you to struggle. Therefore, here are a few tips for taking care of your hearing aids. These tips will also help to reduce any further malfunction and help to extend the lifetime of your hearing aid.

Here are a few tips:

If the sound from your hearing aids are muffled

Check if the dome and filters are clean and no wax is in the filters. Replace the filter and if the dome is not looking at its best – use a cloth to wipe any wax off.

Feedback (Whistling sound from the hearing aid)?

Make sure that you don’t cover the hearing aid with hair or something else. It can trap sound from the hearing aid and cause it to re-enter the microphone.

No sound coming out of the hearing aid?

Replace the battery with a new one. If it continues, check that the batteries didn’t expire.

If the problem persists, please bring the hearing aids in to be checked.

Avoid moisture

The dry capsule and container are your hearing aids best friend! When they are out of your ears at night, it is best to store them in the container with the dry capsule to ensure any moisture is removed from your hearing aids.

I have check filters and domes, cleaned the hearing aid and changed the battery, but still no sound coming from my hearing aid?
